When I woke up it was cold and windy. My mom was already awake helping my older and younger brothers Sky and Ester. Sky just turned 17 and Ester is 9. I'm 12. Mom hollered, “primery wake up!” I scrunched my nose and got out of bed. Dad walks in and says “katniss my dear did you hear the news?'' Katniss is my mom's name. She has changed since Ester was born. She became terrified of everything. My dad's name is peeta. “What news?” says my mom. “They brought back the hunger games and our kids are the only ones in this district.”says dad with a frightened look.Mom dropped the glass plate she was holding. It shattered into hundreds of pieces. Then she starts screaming and crying. “What are the hunger games?” I ask politely as mom runs out of our cabin. Dad responds with “sky tell her the story.” My brother told me that mom and dad were drawn to go to the hunger games and they had to fight others to death but, mom stopped it by becoming the mocking jay. Her goal was to stop the hunger games and the capital from controlling everyone in the districts.Theres more but I will let dad tell you that. “Wow,” I responded. So now I am terrified. I have to fight my brothers till they die.The next day I woke up and mom was gone so I changed into a nice outfit since I had to go to the reaping ceremony. I braided my hair the way mom braided hers. It was a french braid that went all the way around my head and stopped on my shoulder. We went to the square and we saw a man dressed in bright blue and he had the most unneeded exseries. He said welcome to the reaping ceremony. There is no age limit in the hunger games this year so let's draw our lady first. He calls out Katniss mellark. Mom walks up slowly and tears running down her cheeks. Then I decided to volunteer. Then mom screamed no I won't let her die like prim and rue.then the cameras turned off and she was taken back to the cabin. Then he asked me what my name was. I respond with primary. The guy said great now for our male tribute. He puts his hand in the bowl and reads the name ester. I suddenly feel a tear rolling down my cheek.They want to kill a 9 year old for amusement. Then the guy says these are our tributes from district 12 happy hunger games. We all walked slowly back to the cabin. We hear mom screaming but no one says anything.when we get back mom yells why would you do that now your going to die and your father can't protect you the whole time in the arena.She didn’t know ester was picked so dad told and she started crying.Dad always said i think she has something emotionally wrong caused by her early life. Now we all know why she is scared of everything. That night the TV broadcasts who the tributes are. District one chloe slam and kyle zane. District two lily vance and sting somon. District 3 meloney question and sal malcolm. District 4 rose call and belcome dase. District 5 blossoms welcome and asher monroe. District 6 Abby Samson and Jack benson.District 7 ashlynn mya and bryston callon. District 8 is Bryn froskee and malyke tulum. District 9 Joanna Boundsy and Mclyston kaston. District 10 hazel hanson and oliver hanson. Siblings just like us. District 11 charlotte kalcon and delcon icon. Last is District 12 primary melrak and ester mellark. It scared me. I have to fight against all these people to live and kill my own brother. The next day I had to leave to go to the train station and go to the capitol.I bathe and get ready for bed. I can hear mom crying the whole time. It breaks my heart to hear her crying. My dad and older brother were up all night trying to comfort her. Me and ester both went to sleep. When I woke up mom was staring at me. Then she gave me a hug and helped me and my brother get ready. Then we heard a loud knock on the door. It was the peace keepers here to pick us up. Dad answers the door and they barge in and grab my hand. They pull me out of the cabin and put me in a wagon. They separated me and my brother but I could hear him crying. We boarded the train and the man from the reaping ceremony was there. He said his name was Jaylum and that he would help us know what to say. He also told us that Meagan Hayes is our coach. She is the 59th hunger games victor. She seemed nice until she guaranteed our deaths. My brother has been crying all day and night. We went through all the districts. It was an amazing sight. We never get to leave the district because mom was banned from everywhere except her own district. The food was great and we got a four course meal. With dessert we never got dessert at home because mom said sugar was a delacase. The showers were hot and they had over 20 soaps to choose from. When I went to bed I saw 12 pillows and 12 fluffy blankets each a different color I believe there for the districts. The blanket I used was grey. It looked soft but it felt like the one I use at home. It brought a sense of comfort to me. My brother went to sleep around noon and I haven't talked to him since this morning when I got put in the wagon. When the morning came I saw a tall slender lady in a white dress. She said Good morning. I repeated to her and said good morning. I was told to go to the 5 train care room to see my stylist. When I got there I saw a lady who was in a bright pink dress with butterflies around the top and bottom. She had blonde hair and it was put in a bun with a butterfly clip in the center. She told me she was my stylist and to call her ann. She started measuring me and asked me questions about myself. She asked if my mom was kattniss Everdein and i told her yes. She was overwhelmed with excitement. She told me we were going to use my mom's first hunger games dress design. Once she measured me I left for breakfast. We had waffles and eggs. We also had biscuits and sausage. I tried coffee for the first time. It tasted good with hazelnut creamer. I went to get dressed when I heard my brother crying. I went to his room. He was sitting on his bed. I asked if he ever ate breakfast. He said no. So I walked him down to eat. When I got to my room I found a pretty sundress. That was a bright yellow with daisies. I did my hair in french braid pigtails. My mom always did my hair like that because her sister Prim also had blonde hair so I looked like her. We had one more night on the train. We stopped in district 2 for a change in scenery. They had pretty meadows and beautiful flowers. When we got back on the train my stylist called for me. She had finished the dress. It was gorgeous. She told me if I clicked the button on the side it would light on fire but that it was totally safe. My brother had his outfit on and said he loved it Ive never seen his face light up so much before. When we got done trying everything on it was lunch time. We had sliders and mashed potatoes. I asked many questions about the games and how to live. My trainer told me but at the end she said that we would both lose and die. The capitol would be sure of that due to our last name. I believe that is not fair. I say standing out of rage, I shoved the table. She tried to grab my hand but I stabbed her. She had blood gushing from her hand. I ran to my room crying. Ann came into my room and told me that Meagan was fine. I went in the medical car and apoligized. I wasn’t actully sorry I just did it so she would help me win the games. She said it was ok it wasn’t the first time she had her hand cut open by another tribute. She told me her story about her experience in the games. I understood everything now. These games scared people for life and that's why mom had to stop it. That night for dinner we had chicken,

green beans, mashed potatoes , corn, and rolls. It was the best meal I ever tasted. For Dessert we had a chocolate cake. When I went to take my shower I heard the girl in the white dress singing. I walked in and asked her What her name was. She replies with Finch crossley the second. She told me that her aunt was in the same game as my mother. She ate poisonous berries to kill herself so she would not have to live through the pain. I told her that was terrible. I walked back to my room quietly. I chose the strawberry lemonade soap. I washed my hair with coconut shampoo and conditioner. I went to bed in my room. Later that night though I moved to my brothers because I was going to miss him. If I didn’t get to see him after the games.
